[Frequently Asked Questions] |
Here is a list of the usual questions I get for this project. in a broad over view I transplanted the whole SHO 3.2L engine, Auto Tranny, computer, wiring harness and related radiators from the donor SHO to my wagon. It took about 3 weeks total for the transplant. Then some more time to workout all the wiring harness differences.
ALL OF THEM from the firewall forward:
Luckily my 95 LX wagon had the 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS. This made it easier for me. I did the front brake upgrade to the Lincoln Rotors and Calipers for larger front brakes.

As for the springs. I used Raine Automotive in southern NJ to make me custom springs. David helped me make a stiffer spring that also lowered the car 2 inches.
Then there's the Rear Anti-Sway Bar by Addco Industries in Linville, NC. This is the listing they have for a standard bar they make. I sent my old bar down with some changes requested and they custom made me a anti-sway bar.

It took me three months to prepare and get the SHO- all the parts and do the Engine 60K service. Then the actual engine swap was about (3) three full weeks. I was not working a "real job" so I was at the shop working 10 hours a day for 3 weeks straight. Then it took an extra 2 weeks to get things all hooked up and smooth.
