SHOwagon Brakes

With all the talk about braking such a fast car, I decided to upgrade the wagon brakes to the Lincoln rotors and a new set of pads.

Old Brake Rotors Old Brake Rotors
Here's a pic of the orginal rotors that had about 45K when I did the upgrade in December, 1998 They had started to shake and were warped.

The new Brute Force pads with the rotors. The completed job. New and shiny.

The complete job took about an hour. The hardest part was getting all the old bolts loosened and removed. If you plan to do the job yourself on a budget get the rotors from a Pep Boys or the like.
As for the brake pads, in hind sight, I'd say stay with the Ford pads that come with the SHO. Just get another set from your local Ford dealer. The pads will already have the diagonal slot cut in to them for cooling.
